A "BIXI City Bike" or a "Montreal On Wheels Bike"?

Since may 2009, the city of Montreal
has been offering its new bike service, the « Bixi ».

In order to differentiate this product from our services, here are some useful informations :

• Bixi Service •

Bixi is a taxi designed for a very short transfer (30 minutes and less) and not for bike riding
Same as a taxi service, Bixi is expensive : 5$ for a 24 hr access fee to which must be added the using charges (1st 30 min. free, second 30 min at a $1.50, third 30 min at $3.00 and $6.00 for each additionnal 30 min period !
Ex : Bixi fee for a full day (8 hrs) = $87.50 !
Designed for very short transfer, the Bixi is heavy and equiped with only 3 gears.
Bixi is not designed for kids and helmets are not provided.
